Llanarth Goldcrest is the sire of Llanarth Braint. He was born in 1945. He was bright chestnut with an off hind white coronet band. He was 15hh. His sire was Pistyll Gold Flake and his dam was Pistyll Sunset, who was by Gwalia Victor. The mating of Llanarth Goldcrest to Llanarth Kilda in 1947 was unplanned since he was only a two year old at the time. However the result, Llanarth Braint, looked so promising that Goldcrest was retained at the stud prducing Llanarth Firelight in 1950 and Llanarth Mirabel in 1953. His progeny include:
