Mathrafal Eiddwen Reg no 965 Vol XVIII
Mathrafal Eiddwen was born in 1914. He was bay with a near hind white fetlock standing at 14.2hh. His sire was King Flyer and his dam was Polly of Maesglynog. Mathrafal Eiddwen notched up a few prizes in the Royal Welsh show rings with a second prize in 1923 to Llwynog Flyer. It was in 1926 that he first won the coveted Prince of Wales Cup with the eminently successful sire, Llethi Valiant standing second. He repeated the award in 1927 but in 1928 Llethi Valiant beat him so he had to be content with second place. He had his revenge of Llethi Valiant at the 1929 show where Eiddwen won and Llethi Valiant was relegated into fifth place. This was also Eiddwen's third notch on the Prince of Wales Cup, a feat that he repeated for the fourth and last time in 1930. His progeny include:
